Davis Cup Draw for 2012.

The draw for the 2012 Davis Cup was out on last Wednesday in Bangkok and since the I haven't been getting time to write this post.

The World Group draw looks interesting.Countries which I support in the Davis Cup,United States and Switzerland are drawn against each other in the R1.United States travel to Switzerland in February to play the R1.Other interesting encounters in the R1 would be between Germany and Argentina which is supposed to be played in Germany.

So there will be Davis Cup ties taking place in two neighboring countries Germany and Switzerland where they take on their respective country opponents.

The draw for the World Group is as follows:

In the Asia/Oceania Zone Group-1, India is seeded #1 and have been awarded a bye in the R1 and are supposed to take on the winners of the tie between New Zealand and Uzbekistan.Australia seeded #2 will take on China P.R in Australia.

With just the final of the Davis Cup left to held between Spain and Argentina in Spain from 02nd December to 04th December 2011,the world awaits for the final result of the Davis Cup 2011.

Switzerland wins.In the World Group next year.

It took just 3minutes for Wawrinka to finish the match which was suspended for darkness in Sydney on Sunday.The Swiss,Wawrinka was leading 5-3 in the final set of the final rubber against Australia's Lleyton Hewitt.Hewitt started by serving to stay in the match at 3-5 this morning and after winning couple of points,leading 30-0 he served couple of double faults which was enough for wawrinka to take control of the game.Wawrinka,then went on to win the next couple of points and won the Game,Set,Match and the Tie for Switzerland.

The draw for the 2012 Davis Cup is scheduled to be held on Wednesday 21st September 2011 in Bangkok.So in couple of days,we will get to know which nations are gonna be playing against each other in the World Group and also in the Group -1 where India is seeded #1.

Davis Cup.India goes down 1-4 to Japan.Back in the Group-1 stage.

It has been an action packed weekend,where 16 nations including India were fighting for a spot in the Davis Cup World Group in 2012.India were up against Japan and unfortunately things didn't go in India's favour from day-1.Though India managed to get on board yesterday with a win in the doubles,India entered the third day trailing 1-2 where Somdev had to with draw with a injury and this withdrawal gave my friend Vishnu Vardhan an opportunity to make his debut in the Davis Cup.

It was indeed a great fight by Vishnu who was up against the World #55 Kei Nishikori but lost in the straight sets.With the attitude and fighting spirit vishnu has exhibited in his debut match,there will be many more wins for Vishnu in the years to come.

This win for Japan is definitely gonna be a memorable one as they are back in the World Group of the Davis Cup after 26 Years. Definitely a memorable one for the youngsters because the last time Japan were in the world group,I don't think anyone from the present Japanese Team Members were born then.

The other World Group Play-off tie which I was looking forward was between Australia and Switzerland which was being held in Sydney.Both the team have a Wimbledon Champion who were also the former World #1.Bernard Tomic the youngster gave Australia the first win and put the score board in favor of Australia.But it was the second match where Roger Federer took on Australias Lleyton Hewitt.Though Hewitt managed to win the First set,Roger raised his game to win the next 3 set and leveled the tie with 1-1 on the end of day-1.

Switzerland however couldn't capitalize on the doubles as Federer&Wawrinka lost to Hewitt & Guccione giving Australia the lead of 2-1 by the end of Day-2.Today,on the Day-3 with a must win match to stay in the Tie Roger Federer took on the Youngster Bernard Tomic in the reverse singles and though Federer lost in the First set,he managed to win the next 3 and leveled the Tie 2-2.In the final match of tie Australias Lleyton hewitt took on Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka.It was a must win match for both these players as the on who win will qualify for the World Group next year.The match was suspended due to darkness when the score was 2sets all and in the Final set the Swiss was leading 5-3.Switzerland is definitely in the drivers set as of now with the score in their favor and just one game away to get into the world group.Its definitely not yet over for the Australia as they have even chance to get to back into this match.So got to wait for few more hours to get to know the result.

Also there was a a Semi-final clash between Spain Vs France in Spain and Serbia Vs Argentina in Serbia.Finally it is going to be Spain and Argentina who will be playing in the 2011 Davis Cup finals in Spain from 2nd December - 4th December 2011.

3years & I am back.

Three years after I stopped blogging,I now decided to start writing the blog again.There is a strong reason about why I have decided to start writing again which I do not wish to disclose it but yea it is for the benefit of the people who read my blogs.
